Hi, I'm Kate
As a photographer spanning nearly five decades, my work is deeply rooted in the exploration of human emotions and the diverse experiences that shape our lives.
I grew up in foster care in Los Angeles during the 1960s and 1970s and served 20 years in the Army, graduated from college in my 50’s with honors and retired from a 20-year career in Human Resources. I have always compartmentalized the different chapters of my life so it isn’t surprising that my art is centered on stories of resilience and transformation and my innate curiosity about the world we live in.
Artist Statement
There is beauty and strength found in vulnerability and by sharing a greater understanding of our diverse realities I hope my work resonates with viewers on an emotional level but also inspires conversations that lead to greater inclusivity and recognition of all individuals' worth and potential.
My art seeks to shine a light on the unique challenges faced by many individuals as an attempt to capture stories, aiming to give voice to those who feel unseen in a world that often overlooks their contributions and identities.
