Artist Statement
There is profound beauty and strength in vulnerability. Through my lens, I explore the human spirit—its resilience, its fragility, and its endless capacity to adapt. My work seeks to create a space for understanding and empathy by revealing the shared threads of our diverse realities. I hope my images not only stir emotion but also spark conversations about inclusivity, recognition, and the inherent worth of every individual.
My art seeks to illuminate the often-overlooked narratives—the quiet struggles and quiet triumphs that define so many lives. Each photograph is  an attempt to give voice to those who feel unseen.
As a photographer for nearly five decades, my creative journey is rooted in an enduring fascination with human emotion and the ways our experiences shape who we are. Every image I create is, in essence, a dialogue between my past and the present moment—an invitation for others to see, to feel, and to connect.
Artist Bio
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I grew up in foster care during the 1960s and 1970s, where I first discovered photography as a means of understanding the world around me. That early connection to art and humanity became a lifelong pursuit.
I went on to serve twenty years in the U.S. Army before earning my college degree with honors in my fifties and over a decade in an HR career that blended my curiosity and challenged my intellect and patience. These diverse experiences help me tell the stories I seek to show you through my lens.
A self-taught artist, I have been guided by both the mentorship and formal training programs and the evolution of technology from its earliest forms. My work reflects a deep engagement with resilience and transformation, capturing the intersection of people and nature as they adapt, endure, and reveal the quiet beauty of everyday life.
